Designing dynamic characters (Part 1)


Whether you are writing a novel, a movie script, a video game, or are the GM of a tabletop RPG, it is important for your characters to have reasons behind the choices they make and the actions they take. As a writer, it is easy to fall into the trap of letting your story drive your characters, rather than the other way around. Although this is not always a bad thing, character-driven stories tend to resonate more with audiences because of the development characters go through over the course of the story.
